Meet the world's strongest man- Eddie Hall

By the tee-rex

I first heard of the 'world's strongest man' some years back, where I saw some guys carry cars around(not the way you're imagining it right now☺). I really didn't pay attention  to it until I got into fitness and believe me the only thing cooler than doing pull-ups on one hand is pulling 500kg (1,102.3 lbs) off the ground, and yes those figures are equivalent to half a tonne and that man, Eddie Hall , did not just lift the weight off the ground ,he set a record by doing so(talk about superhuman...!).

Eddie Hall was born on the 15th of January 1988 (29 years ) in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. He wasn't  born the world strongest man, he even worked as a mechanic  before he gained the title, in fact it was not until 2010 that his journey to becoming the world's strongest man kicked off.

In 2010, Dave Meer of Tamworth, Staffordshire had to drop out of the England championships organised by Elite Strongman because of injury. He arranged for Hall to take his place and led to Hall making it into the 2010 finals, which he won on his first attempt by half a point.

In 2012, Hall competed at the World's Strongest Man finals, but did not progress beyond his qualifying group.
Hall returned in 2013, winning two events in his heat but narrowly missing out on qualifying after a poor final event.

In 2014, Hall reached the final for the first time, coming second in the Squat Lift event and ultimately finishing 6th. In March 2015, Hall achieved the world record for lifting the weight of 462 kilograms (1,019 lb; 72.8 st) in the deadlift. The record was achieved at the Arnold Classic in Australia, and
Arnold Schwarzenegger was present to cheer him on. He promptly broke his own record at the World Deadlift Championships 2015, with a 463 kilograms (1,021 lb; 72.9 st) deadlift.
In 2015 he also finished 4th at the World's Strongest Man, an improvement of two places on the previous year. In March 2016, he achieved a new world record long bar deadlift in the Arnold Classic Strongman, by lifting 465 kilograms (1,025 lb).
In July 2016 Hall set a new world record in the deadlift with a lift of 500 kilograms (1,100 lb), besting the world record he had previously set at 465 kilograms (1,025 lb) earlier that same day. The 500 kg lift made Hall pass out.  He is the winner of 2017 World's Strongest Man competition held in Gaboroune, Botswana and he also announced his intention to retire from the World's Strongest Man and return to low weight competitions after expressing health related concerns.

Low weight competitions or not ,he's still one of the beasts who'll make up my "suicide squad' along with sajjad Ghraibi. Hall also has a very intimidating figure, like Ghraibi, killing it at 1.91m (6ft 3in) and weighing 185kg (410lb).He currently  resides at Stoke-on Trent,Staffordshire, England.
