Synthol as an enhancement and it's disadvantages to lifters
By the Tee Rex
You’ve probably seen those horrific photos floating around the Internet of bodybuilders who have freakish, almost cartoon-like muscles and it's left you wondering what kinda growth hormone or anabolic steroid these guys are on. Fact is they're not on any growth hormone nor are they on anabolic steroids, but a synthetic oil known as SYNTHOL .

"Santol" or "synthol" is a kind of SITE ENHANCEMENT OIL [ The use of site enhancement oils such as paraffin, sesame, and walnut oil has been documented as early as 1899 as a way to increase breast size and fill in wrinkles. In the medical community SEO's are now rarely injected except in the case of using sesame oil as a solvent for intramuscular gold injections to treat rheumatoid arthritis ]
Synthol was was first developed in the mid-1990s by the German bodybuilder Chris Clark. Clark developed synthol with the goal of being longer-lasting, more stable, safer, and less allergenic than other SEOs.
Unlike other site enhancement oils, synthol is a blend of three ingredients 85% oil (usually medium chain triglycerides), 7.5% lidocaine (painkiller), and 7.5% benzyl alcohol (disinfectant or sterilizer) and it is injected into the muscles of bodybuilders to make them bigger and/ change the shape.
Some bodybuilders, particularly at the professional level, inject their muscles with such mixtures to mimic the appearance of developed muscle which is now known as "Fluffing"(a new trend gaining popularity in the fitness world)
Pretty much unlike this guy who didn't need any form of synthol to get as big as THE HULK!
While synthol might sound like a great way to increase the size of your muscles, it's not natural and when something's not natural and it involves going directly into the blood stream... there's a thousand ways it could go wrong.
I would recommend trying different approaches if you've hit a plateau or if you're just trying to add more muscle mass, I personally, won't encourage the use of synthol
Some of the adverse effects of using synthol include:
⚠ Redness, swelling, pressure, and pain in and around the injected muscle group(s).
⚠ Deformed and unnaturally shaped muscles.
⚠ Purpuras : These occur when small blood vessels leak blood under the skin.
⚠ Nerve damage.
⚠ Infection.
⚠ Skin ruptures.
⚠ Complete halt of natural muscle regeneration: This could turn out worse if you decide to quit synthol and revert back to natural bodybuilding.
⚠ Induration/Sclerosis : Refer to hardened patch(es) of tissue in the skin or mucous membranes.
⚠ Abscesses: Is a collection of pus in any part of the body that, in most cases, causes swelling and inflammation around it.
⚠ Cysts: Which refers to a closed pocket or pouch of tissue filled with air, fluid, pus, or other material.
Cystic scar tissue.
⚠ Pulmonary artery occlusion: This is the blockage or closing of the artery that carries blood from the heart to the lungs. Can be caused by or as a result of injecting SEOs (Site Enhancement Oils)
⚠ Vacuolation: Is the formation of vacuoles in cellular tissue, which leaves small extracellular cavities or spaces within tissues and creates a 'swiss cheese' pattern within the muscle.
⚠ Vasculitis: Is the medical term for the inflammation of blood vessels.
⚠ Fistulas: This is caused by the abnormal connection[s] between an organ, vessel, or intestine and another structure."
⚠ Fibrosis: This is the thickening, stiffening, and scarring of connective tissue.
⚠ Hard oedema: This is the hardening of fluid build-up in body tissue.
⚠ Lymphangitis: Is the infection of the lymph vessels throughout the body; typically caused by complications from bacterial infections.
⚠ Cerebral stroke (this sounds bad): When this happens blood flow (oxygen and nutrients) to all or part of the brain ceases.
⚠Myocardial infarction/heart attack - blood flow (oxygen and nutrients) to all or part of the heart ceases.
Hell of a list right!?😰😰😰...so if you were thinking of using synthol, the list above contains some of the reasons you should be having a rethink of what's best for your bodybuilding goals and dreams.
Some researchers believe that abstinence from injecting site enhancing oils into the muscles (even after using) might return the muscles to their normal, healthy and original state.
While some people are afraid of needles it has become part of the day-to-day lives of some bodybuilders. |

But the million dollar question is, does it also restore your overall body and organ health to normal? I won't bet on it because some rare cases of injecting synthol into the muscles require surgical intervention to avoid further damage to the muscle and/or to prevent loss of life...some even require the amputation of whatever part of the body the muscle(s) are located.
